How ITP Energised replaced post-acquisition silos with a bespoke cloud-native AWS platform acting as the central nervous system for the group.

Client
ITP Energised
Sector
Energy, environmental, engineering, and technical advisory consultancy (public and private sector clients globally)
Challenge
Fragmented business processes across the group after a period of growth and acquisitions, with no single source of truth and a critical lack of visibility into work-in-progress pipelines
Outcome
A bespoke cloud-native application on AWS, real-time dashboards, group-wide process consistency, and data quality enforced through a single point of entry

The situation

ITP Energised is a world-leading consultancy offering energy, environmental, engineering, and technical advisory services. Public and private sector clients include utilities, developers, investors, and regulators across the globe. If you've grown through acquisition and ended up with three or four versions of the same operational answer sitting in different parts of the group, you'll recognise the shape of the problem ITP Energised had reached.

The challenge and the stakes

Following a period of successful growth and the acquisition of other businesses, ITP Energised faced a significant internal challenge. Business processes were fragmented across the group, creating operational silos. There was no single source of truth, which led to a critical lack of visibility into work-in-progress pipelines and other key metrics. Management struggled to get accurate, up-to-date information, making strategic decision-making difficult and reactive.

The approach

ITP Energised concluded that off-the-shelf software couldn't solve their unique, cross-functional challenges. The company commissioned D55 to design and build a bespoke, cloud-native application on AWS to act as the central nervous system for the entire group.

We worked Agile, delivered a product that streamlined business processes, enforced data quality, and provided a single, reliable source for all operational information.

The turn

The first cross-group MI report ran from the new platform without reconciliation work in the background. The management team saw a single set of numbers for work-in-progress across the group for the first time since the acquisitions.

The outcome

Complete, real-time visibility. The management team now has real-time dashboards showing work-in-progress pipelines and a full suite of Management Information (MI) reports for data-driven decision-making.

Elimination of business silos. The software was implemented across the entire group, breaking down silos and enabling streamlined, consistent business processes for the first time.

Improved data quality and compliance. By creating a single point of entry and control for key data, the platform enforces data quality and compliance, so leadership can trust the numbers they're seeing.

In ITP Energised's words

"D55 have helped to develop our CRM system and have been a valued partner in this process. We continue to work with D55 on our application development and would have no hesitation to recommend them."

Andrew Bright, Director, ITP Energised

The implication

The pattern transfers. When your growth through acquisition produces a group with fragmented processes and no single source of truth, off-the-shelf software is rarely the right answer because the cross-functional integration is your own; the right move is a bespoke cloud-native platform on AWS that acts as the central nervous system for the group.
